SummaryClimate change education is the development of knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes so that students can understand the impacts of the climate crisis and become agents of their own actions. This program is structured progressively according to the developmental stages of each grade: lower grades focus on 'empathy for animals and nature,' middle grades on 'understanding climate change phenomena and expanding perspectives,' and upper grades on 'social practice and proposal activities.' Each session sets learning objectives in three categories—knowledge/understanding, process/function, and values/attitudes—centered on the core value of reflecting on the human-nature relationship (shifting from anthropocentrism → to ecocentrism). This lesson plan was designed by reflecting the three learning dimensions of ESD ecological transition education (cognitive, social-emotional, and behavioral) in the “Ecological Transition Education Component Relationship Map” for teachers, the expansion of learning stakeholders (beyond individual, group, and community to include non-human and ecological elements), and the interaction with the K-SDGs (17 goals and 5 Ps).
